Project Background
The City of Sydney has used the Culture Counts evaluation platform since 2016 to evaluate its activities and programs, which includes organisations that have received funding from the City.
Grant recipients are asked to distribute an attendee survey as part of their activities, collecting research data that will help quantify the outcomes of arts and cultural activities. This research program and the associated surveys have been designed and created for City of Sydney in consultation with Culture Counts. The delivery of the research program is being undertaken by Culture Counts.
Note: This evaluation option does not cover specific evaluation requirements set by the City of Sydney. If you have specific deliverables as part of your grant, they take precedence over this evaluation program.
Requirements
Grant recipients should seek to collect a minimum of 30 responses from visitors or attendees of their project or activity. These can be collected in situ or after the event, using a survey link provided by Culture Counts.
Each project will receive its own unique survey links, which are designed to be taken on a smart device or computer. Paper surveys are available, but recipients will need to enter this data manually for their project.
There are two survey types that you can choose from for your project:
- Short Survey: 13 questions, asking attendees about their experience and some limited demographic information. (PDF Preview / Online Preview)
- Long Survey: 21 questions, asking attendees about information about their experience, the influence of the activity on their spending and some limited demographic information. (PDF Preview / Online Preview)
You may request to include a custom question in your survey if you select the ‘Long Survey’ options.
